Mindfulness meditation is a form of meditation in which you use your breath to bring your attention to the present moment. It sounds simple, but the results of Mindfulness meditation can be profound. Research at several medical institutions, including the University of Massachusetts and the University of Wisconsin, show that Mindfulness meditation can have a long-term effect on brain functioning that results in a reduction in anxiety and stress. and an increase in the ability to focus your attention.

MIndfulness meditation has ancient roots in Zen buddhism, and became popular when Jon Kabat-Zinn started a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program at the University of Massachusetts in 1979. Since then it has gained in popularity.In this course you will learn what mindfulness meditation is, and how to practice it. The course includes audio files that you can use on your own for the homework and in the future after you have finished the class.  You will also learn about the research that has been conducted on how mindfulness meditation re-trains your brain to reduce stress and increase focus. Here’s what you will learn:

It was interesting but a number of videos lost their audio which was frustrating and I felt that I didn't gain all the information that was available.

Instructor was clear with the exercises, sometimes a bit superficial, but overall great for an intro course. A couple of the sessions had audio that cut out unexpectedly (esp the last, section 4), which was frustrating.

The course is good for someone who has no knowledge about mindfulness meditation. Well explained. Audio for few videos is missing and thus the information is missed by us.

The presenter is knowledgeable and kind. I might be scared of meditation. So it takes me a few tries to become comfortable with her super calm voice. The training is super useful.
