This course was a very good introduction to the process of cover design. I felt like both instructors were qualified to teach in their respective fields and that it delivered the value I was hoping for. The reason I selected a four-star rating instead of five is that some of the videos, particularly in the intro part of the series, took much longer than they needed to without delivering on content. There were a few where the instructor kept repeating the same info and could have said the same thing in half the length of time. Once we got into the actual content, I really liked it and learned a lot about the crucial concepts of cover design from Amy and simple techniques that a beginner can do in Photoshop from Phil.
A lot of good ideas, and how to use them. Thank you.

The initial intro to tools was too fast, I was not able to duplicate using the eye dropper and applying color to a rectangle, no matter how many times I rewatched it and tried again. This was very frustrating because it's a basic capability. The instructor doesn't focus on teaching, it's more like "watch me work quickly". I even tried slowing down the video. It's poor teaching, unfortunately. I've worked in technology for decades, so it's not like I'm slow. This application is simply not intuitive and the tools are very tiny. In addition, there was too much filler and fluff in the beginning of the course. And the course keeps focusing on just eBook design, while it was advertised to be for physical books as well when I bought it. Unfortunately, this has not been worth the money. I will turn to YouTube for a free course for better instruction. I regret having taken this. Also, earlier, the woman who spoke was very difficult to understand, not just her accent but she slurs her words. Too bad, I had good experiences with Udemy in the past.
