Bio for Alan Lowenschuss(aka “Allowah Lani”)Director, Yoga Quest UniversityAlan Lowenschuss, BA, MA, ERYT-200, has been a student of philosophy and world spirituality since his early teens, and a student of Yoga for the past two decades. Alan holds a BA and an MA (in Philosophy and Liberal Arts) from the University of Pennsylvania, and from 1997-2001 did post-graduate work in Kabbalah and Yoga at New York University. He is registered as an eRYT 200 through Yoga Alliance, and also earned a 300-hour certification through Dr. David Frawley's American Institute of Vedic Studies.In addition to his formal training, Alan has studied Yoga with other teachers both in India and the U.S., including Sri Karunamayi, David Swenson, Sri Anandi Ma, Ganga White, Tracey Rich, and particularly Dharma Mittra. For the past 20 years, Alan has taught Yoga full-time in Philadelphia, PA, Naples, Florida, and most recently, Maui, Hawaii. In 2006, Alan opened what is now Yoga Quest University, a 200-Hr Yoga Alliance registered school, which trains and certifies those desiring to teach yoga as a profession, as well as to promote and raise awareness about Yoga and its rich heritage.In 2016, Alan self-published his first book, Who Am I? Yoga, Psychedelics and the Quest for Enlightenment, which can be purchased through Amazon and his website.Also in 2016, Alan released his first CD of original music, Heart ‘n’ Hands, consisting of songs based on and inspired by A Course in Miracles, available through CDBaby.In 2019, Allowah published a sequel to his first book, entitled “I Am Love: Yoga, Ayahuasca, A Course in Miracles and the Journey Back to the Place We Never Left.”
