About This Course

Save time with social media tools to Automate & Schedule content, Followers, time Facebook Twitter Google Plus LinkedIn

This is a Corporate course for Business, Government and Not for Profits: Save Time: Learn about autoposting and autoscheduling, natively within Facebook & Twitter as well investigate which social media dashboards are best for automation - Hootsuite, Sprout Social and Buffer. Play with automation software combined with social media dashboards to autofollow and unfollow on Twitter. Work around challenges of automating Google Plus. Includes an advanced spreadsheet conversation calendar lecture. Create bitmarks & extensions for RSS, Do Share and Recipes for If This Then That. Recommended for experienced social media practitioners within organisations, Corporate Government, Not for Profits and small business.

This course uses many free (e.g. IFTT) freemium (Hootsuite) and low monthly fee tools (meetedgar). We do NOT look at the $40,000 a month tools (use your account manager to give you free training if you are paying that much!). Please do not buy ALL the tools mentioned here - investigate a few and use a mix of free to $25 a month, ones.

Facebook recently (May 2015) changed the API (the way tools talk to Facebook) and removed access to posting to groups you are NOT an admin of. I am investigating other solutions, but at the moment NO tool has access to automate posting to a group where you are a member, not an Admin.

Thank you John! "Just working through your social media automation Udemy course. Been meaning to complete it for ages! Nothing else like it." (from Twitter)

from what I have seen this course was created a couple of years ago - would be nice to have an updated course.

The content of the course is good, although with the pace of new stuff coming in the field it does not seem to be on top of current trends (which is quite difficult, admittingly). The author is nice, funny and engaging. The lessons are well designed and produced. The main downside is that most tools on display in the course are pretty expensive. Most of the tools have a free account which is normally severly crippled. Fair enough, but if you are going to subscribe on many of the tools using the cheapest plan that is useful, then get ready to shell out 1.000+ bucks (per year!). Given, the tools are powerful and if you are - like the author - a professional making money on social media, they might be well worth it. For everyone else it's going to be an expensive hobby.

I thoroughly enjoyed completing this course and it kept me engaged right to the very end. The content was very in depth and very well presented. Although I knew of some of the recommended sites that were talked about in the course I did not realise just how much they could help me. Thanks very much for this information and I highly recommend this course to others.

Even though I already use just about 90% of the automation tools she mentioned, it was useful learning some of the hidden tools and advanced actions available. It was also great getting her perspective on different ways to use the automation tools, a lot that I didn't think of or consider. If i had to give one negative comment it would be that the beginning was really slow, I actually found it a bit hard to keep my eyes open, but once we really started getting into the deep end I was able to focus more.

Are you looking for an interactive instructor? Someone who has humor & can humanize what could be for social media beginners boring & overwhelming, this course is for you. If you have some experience, you can take this in one sitting or for a complete beginner, perhaps in sections - so that you can put into action what you learned then go into the next segment. Thanks Laurl for making it engaging! I'm excited to try!
