It has been awhile since it has been updated but it had a lot of good ideas that I will have to implement in my work. I really am happy I picked this one up.
It's out of date now, but it was well instructed and informative.
I create mostly low-content books, so this wasn't exactly what I needed, but it was close enough to be very helpful.
I'm going to go over the keywords in all of my books and hopefully I see some sales.
The instructor spoke very clearly and didn't go too fast. I'm hearing-impaired and even I had no trouble following along.
I like how the instructor sprinkled short quizzes throughout the course. The 2 questions were relevant to things that we'd covered immediately before, so they weren't hard, but would definitely point out a part you missed if you got an answer wrong.
His "over his shoulder" video examples were very good and it was easy to see what he was talking about.
I liked how this course was tailored specifically for authors. I am pleased enough with this course that I will look up what other courses he has for authors to see if there's anything that might be applicable to what I do.
If the author came out with this same course, but geared to low-content books, I would absolutely buy it — even though I've already taken this course.
All in all, another great learning experience at Udemy. I hope this instructor keeps making courses!
Although I learned plenty from these lessons, one part of the lesson went over my head: I do wish that he would have gone into more detail about the thought process in why or why not to use certain keyword. He showed us how to look them up but then when he would decide why or why he would not choose a particular word, he did not go into depth enough for me to understand why. That is the one part of the lesson that I was actually trying to find, and prompted me to purchase this lesson, so I was not happy but I did learn things that I didn’t already know so thank you.
This course is 5 years old, The guy speaks great and the information was probably revolutionary in 2015. If you are an absolute beginner then you can use some of it. However, the Amazon categories DO NOT WORK the way he explains any longer. The process he shows can't even be done! Furthermore, Google Ads has also changed so I had to chat with an online specialist for 20 mins to figure that out. Overall, the course could be amazing if he updated it but at this point everything in this course can't be used. I'm sorry to leave a mediocre review but this is REAL. You had a great run on a course for 5 years but its time to update.
