Stephen Kane

Stephen L. Kane has legal and business experience ranging from corporate to small business to startup. As a business owner and entrepreneur, he has confronted many of the same challenges encountered by startups, and provides practical legal advice from the perspective of a lawyer who “gets” business. He is a former associate at the national firm O'Melveny & Myers LLP, and earned his undergraduate and law degrees from Stanford University.Stephen is an instructor at General Assembly where he teaches an Essentials of Start Up Law workshop. And an advisor at Bixel Exchange, a tech accelerator within the LA Chamber of Commerce. He provides legal workshops at the LA Law Library, the second largest law library in the world. And Chairs GRID110, a non profit that helps start ups in downtown LA succeed. Stephen is also Founder & CEO of FairClaims, an online small claims court alternative.
