in my opinion there is too much emphasis on php and how to build your own stuff which i think is a waste of time since there are so many plugins for that.
if i want to know what he did in php i will take a php course.
plus, dont show me how things dont work and then the right way to do them, just show me the right way in the beginning.

Half way through the course and already I have increased my knowledge of the various functions within WordPress. I always struggles with eCommerce, but through this course I have found it easy to follow and understand. Great teaching and great examples. Thanks for easing my doubts to sheer joy at finishing the other half of the course. Recommend it highly to anyone who wants to get a hold on shopping carts etc. You can't go wrong.

This course is more than impressive, it is essential to anyone wanting to master the ecommerce learning curve. I possessed a background with Wordpress, consisting of merely making posts and adding a single plugin for activating a podcast. This course, however, just launched me to a more professional standing with easy to follow, clear, concise, beautifully articulated lectures on how to start an ecommerce site.

I plan on building a donate button for my podcast this week, and I can hardly wait to view the lectures on digital downloads.
If you want the simplest, most information rich approach to making a Wordpress site, this course reveals it all.

I would give this course a thousand stars if the system would allow it. It serves as the fast track to Wordpress mastery. Absolutely love it and the content is so engaging, so riveting, so compelling, that I wish the course would never end.

I am now nearing in on the 20 some % mark of the course, and the initial simple gateway without a product catalogue appeared straightforward. With that you can make donate buttons, buy buttons, and service level buttons all complete with payment gateways.

Now, with the catalog, you should have some basic html and css knowledge (unless you implement the full shopping cart or don't mind the catalog structure straight out of the box). As an alternative to creating a catalog structure, the author walks you through the building of a template to make product field entry easy, which requires PPP and html and css, although you can rely on another method the author provides that just needs html and some css (and later, with the full shopping cart, you don't need any of these skills, really). I have developer background with html, css, and JavaScript, and the html part was as easy as making some divs or a table in html (for structuring the catalog items). The php part with ftp components for making a child template for standardizing catalog field entry was beyond me, bit fortunately an earlier approach that was more simplified will still work (and the full shopping cart makes knowing PHP, HTML, or CSS not necessary).

Moving on, the process for making an actual shopping cart is quite easy! The shopping cart and the digital downloads are, once again, easy as pie to implement--no real coding required, although basic html and css come in handy. This course is a gold mine.
My only complaint entails the lack of responsiveness with feedback, but the course hits the sweet spot so much, I will keep my rating at 5 stars

I am now 70% done the course, and the full shopping carts are easy to implement and don't necessarily require any coding whatsoever, although you can work with css or php files.

I am now nearing the finale of the course, and this course is one of my top two favorite Udemy courses ever. The lecturer's style and grace are flawless, and the course eases you nicely into each lecture, so nothing is missing or understated. This course is outstanding. The value surpasses any other (with the exception of Steve Cherubino's podcasting course).
