Great course -- really gets you building without any hesitation. Having taken other Swift courses before, I'm aware that this involves a lot of corner cutting (as far as it never introduces classes, and does put all the app code in viewDidLoad), but... again, it gets you building and building and building and hopefully i'll be able to figure that stuff out as I get more advanced.
From iOS8 to iOS9, the instructor seems to be only interested in making new updated videos for making more money instead of focusing on the students' questions and updated the original series of videos. Not to mention he needs to spend some time to take a look at those frequent students' questions due to the fact that he made his videos by using "beta" Xcode, which I can't figure out why he can't wait to record his lessons until the formal version of Xcode is released. It is well known the beta version is not the final release and have some obvious difference from the final version, and he knew it. But to grab student's money in time and become rich, he chose to release half-baked products and let students figure out the rest. All he can do is to ask you to post a screenshot then do nothing, or wait for other "experienced" students to help and then reply with "thank you, xxx". The lesson structure looks promising and it does have valuable information, but like i said the instructor has no intention to help students out and make his lessons better, he is only interested in making students pay more to upgrade forever. As a Ph.D. in science and engineering, even I have problems following up these lessons, i can imagine some other normal students' confusion and frustration. I was so disappointed with these two experience and will not keep buying his iOS 10 lesson and look elsewhere. For new students, be aware!
Fantastic course that got me started with iOS development, the start of a journey that led me to getting a job as a junior iOS developer at a software development company.
I have given it two stars because to some extent, certain important concepts such as 'Predicates' or 'initialiser' or 'self' are completely overlooked or are inadequately explained. Similarly, 'Classes', 'inheritance'... were somehow left out. Overall, my impression was that the trainer assumed that students had workable knowledge of C++ or other programming languages, hence some topics were overlooked.
For example, lesson 99, the teacher explains that "because we are inside a closure, we are going to use 'self'.... " And he doesn't elaborate or explain these two concepts. He assumes that students have previous knowledge of 'coding' and that they do understand what is a 'closure' and 'self'.
Finally, some videos are excessively long.... around 45min which isn't ideal when someone is trying to understand new concepts and focus.
Moving forward, those long videos should be broken down into shorter ones in order to allow students to focus. Important concepts should be explained in order to allow students to master 'programming'.
Overall, the course is interesting, but it is somewhat let down by the above points that I mentioned.

If you're just glancing over and looking at reviews, then I'll tell you straight away that yes, you need to buy this course. I see it as an investment and I can't think of a better one. It's the bargain of the century, but you may as well update to the iOS 10 version of the course since we are all headed there soon (developers and iPhone users).
Anyway, as someone who coded in Java at my university for a year, I'll tell you what this course is and isn't. It is a course for iOS, not Swift. You will have a good grasp of how to make iOS apps and you'll be making them right away. You won't have as firm of an understanding of Swift, although your understanding will be good enough to make apps on your own. But for 30 bucks (the price that I paid 2+ months ago) it was more than worth it. Go for it!
Started off good but about three quarters of the way the lessons are not updated and are almost impossible to finish. So i switched over to the ios 9 and swift 2 class by mark price. Which covers git and github and also goes deeper into to the code explaining it and not just doing it which helps learning a lot.
The size of the letters are a bit small, however, it is possible to watch on the phone and code in a computer.
In the overview, it is said that the course is made for whose want to top up knowledges or just starting out that's scam! this course is made for intermediate coder you need an ABSOLUTE DEEP UNDERSTANDING of codes or you will just copycat. Following the basics in the first part will not help you enough!
