As the name says, it is a Quickstart and it delivers. There is some self-promotion inside the course.
I was in the middle of a course, and all of a sudden, the content of the course disappeared and now I have less lessons than I had the day before
Great course and I learnt a lot! Nikolay explains things very clearly and that is why I selected the course after reading prior recommendations and observations. Only thing that I had trouble with was sourcing the java files in github from the links provided in the lecture. Some of the java files do not map to the lecture content or appear to exist. But in saying that, that forced me to write the code while doing the lectures, which was ultimately more beneficial to myself.
That was a fantastic course.
I managed to create my first automation test in only a week in my workplace.
The instructor is fantastic and very knowledgeable.
I'm not sure about total beginners in java, but if you have a wee bit of experience (the fundamentals I should say), this course is really easy to follow. Highly recommended!
I am giving it a 2.5 star rating. The reasons are.
1) The java course is only about half the entire length of the course and there are loads of videos from the Csharp course (which isn't java) and are dated.
2) The java content is great, there's just not enough of it yet.
3) It feels like there's a huge multi-section piece of the course, case studies, compound practicing, indepth syntax coverage missing as yet and those sections being added would significantly increase the rating.
Overall I like Nikolay, he has a decent style, it's direct, confident etc.. I am totally prepared to revisit this review and rating if there is a subsequent content drop that does indeed provide the additional coverage and practice to deliver the promises. I expect there would be given this doesn't have the length or depth of other courses he's done and being the newest you wold expect an upgrade in how comprehensive a course is instead of an awful lot less in new content.
I think removing the old Csharp content would be a good start, it's a mixed message and makes the course seem disjointed and does a disservice to the new content which is good quality.
