In this course we'll learn how to build apps (web sites) with Ruby on Rails.
We'll build this fun little superhero name generator website that will allow us to connect with a third party API to generate data and images, then we'll learn how to manipulate that on our app.
I'll also teach you the Ruby programming language. Most people get Ruby on Rails and Ruby confused, but they're two different things. Rails is a web framework for building apps, Ruby is a programming language...we'll learn both in this course!
We'll also really dive into the the Rails controller (the "C" in the Rails MVC system). Learning how to work with the Controller gives you all kinds of power over your app to do really cool things.
Finally, we'll also learn how to use the hugely popular Bootstrap CSS framework to style our app. Bootstrap is easily the most popular CSS framework in the world, and you'll learn everything you need to use it right here in this course.

This is a poor course
This is a great beginner course
I really enjoyed the course and got a lot out of it. Although it was a bit older with the version of Rails used and the Bootrap version, I was able to manage it and complete it with current versions.

I believe its never to late to say I was wrong. diving deeper into this course I must admit fault my initial review of this course was a two star I am rating this a five because its actually a super useful resource. I apologise John Elder your a legend and please don't let trigger happy nuts like me get you down you are helping change peoples lives and its amazing dude!!!
Ruby classes are tedious things that I don't look forward to, generally. This one's pretty engaging and fun, and I don't feel like I'm being talked down to. So far, so good.

Not a good match, cant even use the right website to follow along. Seems like updates are fairly useless and almost no thought went into how student would follow along, hope it gets better...
