This course was really useful in helping me come to grips with creating responsive websites for mobile devices.
This is a great introduction to responsive design and media queries within a WordPress however, I give this course a slight better than average rating because I feel it doesn't live up to the course title.
Its really all about creating a hard coded responsive home page. There is little to no discussion on how to integrate a working slide show for example or any deeper dive topics into WordPress theme development.
As someone trying to become a "Professional" WordPress developer, I want to learn more about best practices and techniques related to WordPress.
Wish there was more content.
I wanted to like this course... I even gave it as a gift to one of my client... But unfortunately I was very disapointed...
First, all the class could have been resumed in a couple of sections... There's a lot of repetition and the pace is really slow.
Second, I already know Responsive Web Design, and the author uses really bad habits. First, he always starts with the big resolution, while we should start with the lower resolutions (Mobile First principle). Then, he repeats over and over again his code, which creates a bigger file for absolutely nothing.
Finally, the only few interesting questions are not even answered by the author... Or he doesn't know the answer, or he finds it's too advanced for the class, but nevertheless, he doesn't answer...
The only things I learned were how to reset the theme, and what are the different files used in this theme.
There are surely better courses out there on the subject... and imagine, I only paid 10$ for it... Imagine if I had paid the full price!
I have a number of course done by Greg Blake and they are all consistently well done. Well presented with no waffle he has really helped me get to grips with web development.

This is a great tutorial for static wordpress site but since Wordpress was designed to allow for many customizations to a website easily from the admin section this only gives a very basic overview of building a site. It would have been nice to learn how to use the Wordpress hooks to allow for easy changes to logo, and content boxes and other basic changes that do not need to be hardcoded into site. Overall well done in showing how to use media queries though and how to quickly design a mobile site.

I actually have been studying web design for months on different platforms and have recent;y bee studying WordPress themes. I have surprisingly learned a great deal here that has not been taught, to me in the other course, primarily because I get stopped in the middle with a lesson glitch, something doesn't work, so it is all good until you have to stop.
You rack your brains going over and over and nothing works.
This course was impeccable, and it was fun to watch and listen to and the directions were clear and I have understanding not on;ly of developing WordPress themes but, simultaneously making them mobile-ready. That is spectacular. Great course by a great teacher.
