The overall course provides good information about the C++ programming language. Unfortunately, the format is very poor, and does not contribute more to one's learning than simply reading the C++ documents. I frequently found myself confused by the lack of in-depth information provided, and needing to search online for clarification.
This course is old. The instructor is not present to answer any questions, and the "exercises" provided are not interactive in the slightest. Even the programming files which are supposed to be provided are corroded beyond retrieval, and cannot be opened. Finally, the constant droning of the lecturer leaves much to be desired, and he is clearly not engaged with the material any more than a disinterested college student.
Now, on to the good parts (few as they may be). The information provided does go somewhat into detail about the intricacies of the C++ programming language. The lectures are very easy to follow, and the exercises are very typical for a programming course. Many of the reviews take the choice to include any mistakes as an indication of lazy production, but I actually quite enjoyed it, as it allowed for the viewer to catch "common" programming mistakes, which is always a good skill to build. Additionally, these errors occasionally shone more light on the features of the programming language, which was very informative.
Overall, would I recommend this course to a friend or colleague? No. There are far more comprehensive "Advanced C++" courses out there, which are more interactive, easier to follow, and more informative. However, I do feel like I learned some valuable information about C++ in this course, and don't regret taking it. Although, that sentiment is likely because I got the course while it was on a heavy discount. To anyone looking through this review- save your money and find something that provides more value.
Really great course for getting up to speed on cpp. My only critique is that it would be nice if the pre and post conditions of functions were briefly mentioned prior to implementing the function (only because I enjoy giving some thought as to how I would implement the function)
This is a old course. No trainer available for interaction and no course material available
really good course the material is taught quickly and very well I also have been typing out the code he covers along with the course which I think is very important. The choice of material to cover is perfect for college engineering computer science courses.
Very good, i need to refrsh my knowledge that was more than ten years in the past, with a course that takes not more than 7 or 8 hours and covers the essential, very nice job
