About This Course

WordPress - Build WordPress sites on your home computer with Xampp, then learn to migrate your site to an online server

In this course you will learn how to download and install the Xampp software needed to build WordPress websites offline on your home (localhost) computer. Once you have built a WordPress site you will learn how to download and install a WordPress plugin that will enable you to compress the local site, and then migrate it to an online hosting server. Occasionally with the plugin method you may run into WordPress migration problems with some host providers. This course will teach you a second method to migrate your WordPress site manually without using a plugin. This second method is a little more complex as it involves exporting and importing your databases, but it is a fail safe method that should work with all WordPress sites and hosting providers.

  • At the end of this course students should have an understanding of the physical structure of WordPress, and understand and implement two different ways to migrate a WordPress site from a local computer or domain, to another online hosting server

Not bad except when I needed to download the WordPress software it had a different version. I had three options and on the video there was only one option that was different from all three the I could download.

This is amazing. I like I can reference this at anytime. I went through the course a while ago and forgot to leave an excellent rating then. I am redoing the course to set up a local website on my computer and to practice WordPress in my free time at my pace. Since it is on my home computer I can save money while learning WordPress before paying money online for hosting and a domain name. I didn't want to sign up for a free trial and then the time is up for a free trail. On my home computer I can take as much time as I need and not worry about loosing money while I practice. This course is excellent to teach me how to do everything for free and practice until I am ready for the world. I like having access to the course for life and I only had to pay one time. This is an excellent course and the downloads will be current as of the date you download XAMPP and WordPress, so not to worry about the course not having the most current date. The knowledge is still the same. It is just like Calculus that was invented by Newton 300 hundred years ago. Calculus hasn't changed and neither has the basic information on how to install XAMPP and WordPress for your local host. Only the software you download today will be new.
