This is a good beginning course, but I was under the impression that it was more in depth. I guess I'm more skilled at WordPress than I thought, either that or this course is more for beginners than it says. Regardless, it's a good course especially if you speed up the lectures a bit - Brian talks a bit slow for me but it's good for those just learning. I thought that their providing the Nevada theme at the end was cool - hopefully it doesn't need a license!
This is a good introductory course, but you might want to stress in the name that it's *very* basic. Also, as a professional marketer I question some of the advice here--not that it's wrong in all cases, but suggestions like "You definitely want multimedia" (Section 5, Social Plugins lecture) aren't right in all cases.
This seems more like the documentation for their free nevada theme (I'm sure with the hopes you'll upgrade to the paid version) than an actual course. Questions go for months without answers, the instructor (whoever that is) never posts updates, comments or answers anything. Unfortunately I didn't start it until after the refund period was over or I'd be asking for a refund now. Save your money, it's not even worth buying on the $15 sale.
There have been two questions from the teacher ... one more than a month ago and still no reply ... Just shows the lack of support from this teacher.
I got to lecture 6 and stopped. The advice given to install a Wordpress theme provided in the course resulted in major problems.
Hence, I have now faith in this teache.
To demonstrate the features of the Nevada Theme for WordPress (you get the Nevada theme free when you purchase the course) you follow along as the instructor works on a client website using this theme. Instructor also has recommendations for Plugins which he seems to know in depth. I love listening to this fellow talk -- he knows his stuff and is excited about it. Well worth the time and money.
I have quite a few of your courses and I wanted to Thank You for imparting so good information as so many instructors do not explain that clearly the reasons for each steps.
