Lighting is easily the most important aspect of photography. I would even go as far as saying that lighting is photography: It is even in the word itself; "Photography" is greek for "Light Drawing", or "drawing with light". Without light, you cannot take photos. It is perfectly possible to take amazing photographs with a very simple camera - as long as the lighting is good. The opposite is true as well: If you are taking photos in a situation where the lighting is truly appalling, having the fanciest, most expensive camera in the world isn't going to help you capture the photographs you want. Become a seeker of light! The most important thing we have to do is to learn how to "see the light". A lot of things will affect what the effects of a light source are, and how your photos are affected by said source. The brightness (or 'intensity') of the light source plays an important role, but, as we will explore in depth in the next chapter, is a lot less important than you might think. The color of light is essential - and some of the biggest challenges you'll meet in photography are the issues that arise when you start mixing different light sources. Sunlight, for example, has a drastically different color from the light that comes from your flash, the light that comes from car headlights, or the light in your house. While it can be incredibly difficult to get your photos to look "right", light sources of different colors offer an opportunity too. With the right mixture of types and colors of light, you can achieve some beautiful creative effects that will make your photos really 'pop'. During the class we are going to through the evolution of light using small Speedlites, direct flash, bounce flash, multiple wireless remote flash, and creating studio quality light anywhere, anytime.

This is well worth the time to watch.
The course is very good. I do wish there was some kind of assignments or quizzes.
I like Bob Davis as instrukter very much.
It seems a bit basic, why talk about using phone camera's and point and shoots when the class is called what the flash.
The information is imparted at a good rate of speed with clear explanations of each topic.
I have watched this video along with actually sitting in on a platform class with Bob and this is just the greatest class.
this course was good but it should of been geared towards beginners. some of us don't have money to buy everything you had. you should of focused more on what everybody could relate to from beginner to advanced photographer who still needs help.
I really enjoyed the coarse and as a novice feel that it covers from beginner to professional. Bob does a wonderful job, patiently and clearly explaining and demonstrating so that it is comprehensive to the layman. There is a lot of information, so the ability to review the coarse again will be utilized. Even though I don't see myself investing in all of the equipment used at a professional level, some of the equipment and the concepts taught will help me tremendously. Bob really comes across as wanting to share his knowledge, experience and enthusiasm, which is inspiring me to practice what he preaches. Thank you, Bob. I hope you continue to do these types of courses.
I have not been able to get back to this great course due to us using what I have learned so far on a couple of wedding first of this year. We went from 4 bookings to over 30 bookings in less than 2 months. All I can say is thanks Bob, I am trying to find the time to finish up the course but with weddings every weekend and we self edit, but with this course it has diminished greatly. The downside for us is we are located in the UK, and flash here is outlawed in 99% ceremonies so we are trying to adapt what we have learned so far to LED light panels.
