Seems a bit outdated, a lot of links are old and dead, a few times for some reason audio is turned off and can't get it back - general presentation seems amateur

Poor editing- videos are cut mid-sentence (specifically section on the Iraq war)

Transitions and linkages between arguments/points of view are abrupt and not well explained.

The instructor is doing a great job of skimming over the primary issues/drivers in the region from a bottom-to-top view. This is essential to provide context for more recent conflicts/issues - which I think we're about to delve into. I do not think it would take much more than one or two short-clip videos to update this course for 2020/2021.

While it was a fairly broad overview of many topics relating to the Middle East, it was a great starting point for many of the topics. There were also great additional resources provided that provided some depth to the topics.

I can't locate the Economist article he referenced. I wanted basic information, but so far this has been way too basic without any needed details.

I am very happy with the course. It has given me a good understanding of the situation in the middle east and some of the origins of its conflicts. I would certainly do other courses with Mr. Lazarus
