What do they say about Libreoffice courses?

"I took Paolo's 3 courses on LibreOffice. Although all of them were great, this one was probably the best for me. I found the sections on Mail-merge, Content, and Change Tracking particularly useful for scenarios where you're running a small business, writing the great next novel, or collaborating on documents. There's a LOT Writer can do, and this course manages to go over most if not all of its features in just under 4 hours of lectures and actually teach you something. If you're planning on moving from MS Word, this course is probably a must."

Buy now the course and start immediately to use LibreOffice, the free suite that supports open formats (and also Microsoft Office).

  • Learn how to use Writer to produce great looking documents: letters, books, resume, thesis, ...etc

  • Understand the Writer interface and how to use it and customise it at its best

  • How Writer interacts with other LibreOffice components and use these features

The course is for complete beginners. People who never used electronic text editors. It is not for people who already has a little experience in Microsoft Word and is just migrating to LibreOffice Writer.

I write this review after the first concrete lecture of the course on "Styles". The instructors' pace is very good, the volume and consistency are good, and the instructor is very knowledgeable on the subject. I am able to apply, immediately, what I am learning to my own documents.

One suggestion to make the course more universal is to, add specific sections for macOS, and Windows, or, alternatively, show the differences in how you access the equivalent functions in macOS and Windows. Another option is to include a reference sheet with this information. This is not enough to knock the rating as it does force you to experiment/figure out yourself. So, there's that.

I will update as I continue through the course.

Whilst I have been using LO Writer for some time now I have learned a lot which will help me doing my job faster and better.

The only thing I am missing from the Writer course is a reference for all users to discuss their LO issues at:

http://ask.libreoffice.org

which I have also used quite frequently. Please add this to the all LO course material.

Thank you and all the best!

He is doing a good job of explaining how Libre Office works. He's not going to fast and his accent is not too thick. I will look for more of his videos if they relate to information that I'm interested in.
