This is a great introduction to Jekyll and to Static site generators in general, I'd recommend to anybody, especially developers like me who have struggled with the overhead and complexity of traditional database-based CMSes such Wordpress and Drupal and are looking for simpler way to customize a website and maintain a blog. I was hoping the course to also cover, complex variables, creating and assigning variables. Managing multiple pages/ posts and some form of additional tagging.
Good course ! I was hoping seeing automation to publish on Git using Jekyll (even I do use MkDocs!) but it is not in this course. This said, Jana is clearly aware of what she teach. Thx Jana.
While some things are a bit out dated the overall course was done well and easy to follow.
The content is very well designed and delivered. Because it's an old course the only issue I faced was with configuring Jekyll and Perl through the command line, but that's something you can look up.

Sorry but i just broke up to continue that course. Every free video on youtube is better and structured than that course. For 25 years of experience i expect more professionally.
The course seems to be a good match for me so far. I've worked my way through another Jekyll course (from LinkedIn Learning, not Udemy) already, so I'm doing this one to reinforce my knowledge.
Compared to the first Jekyll course I took, this one goes more in depth on building a site in Jekyll. The previous course focused on using Jekyll in GitHub pages, and left me feeling like I didn't know as much about Jekyll itself as I wanted to. This course is helpful in filling in those gaps.
One downside of this course for me is that the instructor bases the material on a mostly complete site built in HTML and CSS, and shows how to convert an existing site to a Jekyll static site. After I finish this course, I will want to look for more information so that in the future I can build a Jekyll site from scratch, as well as converting an existing site.
