Hearing impaired, so difficulty in understanding. When Closed Captioning is on, it does not accurately script what is actually being said. Also, the pace is a bit slow for me. I understand there can be others who may find this just right.

My son will be attending college this year as freshman. He will be majoring in Computer Science. Being able to have an understanding of HTML/CSS give me a sense of knowledge. I see co-workers doing this and I thought it was to complex for me. I really think I can do this!

As someone with years of experience in HTML I would recommend this course with the following caveats. Some of the code taught in this course would not pass an HTML5 validation test. Instead of using the 'script' tag with the 'src' attribute to link to an external JS file, he uses the 'link' tag instead. Also, in the DIV video he's teaching the old way to use 'div' tags. Instead, he could use 'header' and 'footer' tags, which are valid and semantic in HTML5. Also, he's showing the use of the 'id' attribute for potentially repeating code like "paragraph", "link" and "image" instead of more correctly using the 'class' attribute. Also, he spelled 'serif' as "sarif" in the 'font-family' CSS property. He didn't go over the 'section' tag (where you would use the 'id' attribute for internal links, in a one-page application for instance). He didn't show you how to use the value '100vh' for the 'height' or 'min-height' property. He didn't even show you how to use 'em' or 'rem' in addition to 'px'. I'm not sure how this course earned a Highest Rated award in the Design > Web Design > CSS category when there are other courses which not only show you how to do more but also how to code HTML and CSS more correctly and semantically. I hope this review helps someone who's looking for work in the website industry whose code WILL be scrutinized if the employer is serious about hiring them.

An excellent beginner course that sets the groundwork and structural design of building a website from scratch or improving a website through various methods. There was some hard-core practice following along which just made it easier to apply new skills in real-world theme and plugin applications. Getting down to the nitty-gritty, this course is perfect for learning how to integrate HTML and CSS styles. Somenath Sen offers a unique approach which begins with Internal CSS and External CSS which makes it much easier to understand key concepts regarding Inline CSS and HTML elements.
