He knows what he is doing and I am learning. The course was best when it taught methods like the 50% rule, or the 45-degree big shadows that are characteristic of flat designs. Sorry to say, the long video with endless little boxes and play buttons was pretty tedious (even at 2x) and didn't teach much of anything. A cheat sheet of flat graphic characteristics that "define" what's in flat designs (colors, 50/50 rule, big shadow 45-degrees, etc.) would have been helpful because then I could go down the checklist and include them all in my own designs. There were several tips on how to create things that I found useful. I wish more flat graphics were constructed illustrating particular flat graphic features.
I came in with very little photoshop experience and no design background. I liked the course because it gave me things I can make IMMEDIATELY. I've already customized the icons for a project. The tips and tricks make it a useful course. I'll be taking a longer course in the future, but the quick tool and design tricks made this a VERY valuable course.
