About This Course

Learn step-by-step what it takes to write your first novel with the help of a bestselling author.

There are four things that we are going to talk about in this course. The first is how to get started. We'll start from the very beginning and talk about where to get ideas, how to get your story going, and the best tools you should use that will make writing and formatting your book a breeze.

Then we'll talk about how to get your story finished. Writing a novel is a huge challenge, and I'll provide some tips and tricks that will make sure you get that first draft completed.

After we've gotten through our first draft, well go over how to polish your book to perfection, and how and where to find editors. I'll even provide a sample template you can use that should save you a lot of time in finding the right editor for you.

Finally, we'll cover how to get your book and to all of the four major online bookstores. Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iBooks, and Kobo. As well as how to distribute your book even further.

  • Come up with a story idea, get started writing, have the motivation to finish, and publish it on all the major bookstores.

I was skeptical about courses like this, but I actually learned a lot of great tips and techniques for setting schedules and where to go to get editing and artwork done. This was definitely worth the time and fee to participate in!

a good attempt but very basic. too much time was spent referencing books to read and summarising them. not much theory to help develop as a writer and no resources. Information was a little too basic and speed had to be increased as normal tempo was very slow. The small number of resources available were not accessible, from no longer being available or requiring other programmes to be downloaded. Some of the publishing information was interesting and may be helpful to others.

Some reviewers deducted rating points, because he trips over his words and is monotone. However, the technical information that he gives is above 5 stars. He speaks from experience on a broad range of topics related to fiction writing, but also speaks of his limitations. In other words, he knows a lot, but is not a know-it-all. It was worth my time, and feel more confident in choosing to write my first novel.
