About This Course

DC Electronics: Learn to use the Voltage Divider Formula to solve series resistive circuits and Kirchhoff's Current Law.

Electronics: Voltage Dividers and Potentiometers S1W6

This Basics Electronics Course will teach you how to solve series resistor circuits. To understand Direct Current (DC) Electronics, you need to master four resistor configurations:

  1. Series Resistor Circuits

  2. Parallel Resistor Circuits

  3. Series-Parallel Resistor Circuits

  4. Complex Resistor Circuits

This course will teach you to master the first category above.
  • Master and solve series resistor circuits using the Voltage Divider Formula.

  • Learn to correctly apply the Voltage Divider Formula to series resistive circuits.

  • Understand the concept of Kirchhoff's Current Law (KCL).

You will understand exactly how to solve series circuit voltage divider resistor problems!

The Voltage Divider Formula allows you to solve series resistive values in an electronic circuit. This information is mandatory for any hobbyist or professional who needs to understand how electronic circuits work. This course is a quality product taught by a college instructor who has been teaching electronics for over twenty years. It is the equivalent of a full week of college level training at a community college or technical university.

The primary teaching method is instructor led lectures using PowerPoint slide presentations. Drawings, images and schematics are used to clearly illustrate each electronic principle. There are ten separate lectures that take you through the concepts of Ohm's Law and series circuits in a clear, simple manner. A number of quizzes are included test your retention of the lecture material.

At the end of this course, you will have a solid grasp of the principles of voltage dividers and the application of this formula to the solution of electronic circuit problems.

  • Use the Voltage Divider Formula to solve series resistive circuits.

  • Describe how a potentiometer (pot) works.

  • Describe Kirchhoff's Current Law and describe its use in parallel electronic circuits

The information is good and the instructor is very knowledgeable. The script however could use some editing to make the videos flow a little smoother. The pace is also pretty slow, so if you are a faster learner you will be a bit bored when it takes 5, 15 minute videos to explain what could have been said in 1, 10 minute video.
