I'm a best selling author on Amazon for "How to Draw Awesome Figures." I studied art at different schools, one of them being a community college in San Jose, Ca. Over the years, subjects in art finally clicked. I teach these subjects in ways that make it easy to grasp. It's hard to brag about myself, but students have written...

This was the course that opened my eyes to how important cross contours were. I couldn't find this info anywhere else. It's still important to research as much as you can on the topic because it can go much more in depth just like anything else. Neil does such a great job on tying everything together. 5/5 course. I wouldn't be as far as I am today without this course.

Update after completing 25% of the course:
While the topics are useful, the presentation is very poor. You'd be better watching any other course that is 1/4 the length, or less. Here you have jumping around the topics, dragged on explanations of same concepts over and over for a hour, countless digressions, etc. Hard to focus, hard to pick up important information from that. Some drawings are too sloppy - enough for someone who already knows the topic, but not for someone who is only learning.

On one hand I like that a comic drawing course have a part on perspective, on the other it's (at this point) neither the short brief about perspective, nor an in-detail dive - There are mistakes easily seen in the videos - confusing distortion with foreshortening, not mentioning actual distortion at all, in the 3-point perspective example drawing an object that goes above the horizon, while 3rd point is below. This makes drawings look unnatural, and while the explanation of perspective is good, the drawings seem off, and it's not mentioned why.
While writing this I'm still only after 4 lessons, so I don't know how it goes from there.

The teacher is simply unbelievable . He covers everything about everything. I admire his way of simplifying difficult concepts like perspective or shading with the most comprehensible accesible way for every student. Thank you!!! I'd love it if he could also tell us more about drawing hands. I feel that after the face they are the most important feature of a person in terms of expression and I always have trouble making them believable. I repeat amazing teacher. Unparalleled knowledge and talent not only in art but also teaching.

Just Amazing, He covers right about everything...... I took some other courses from other artists but it was too complex....but he teaches it perfectly and it's simple and easy to learn and get to advanced... I would recommend this to the artists who have at least a basic knowledge of figure drawing, etc. :)
