My name is Tiago and I welcome you to the “Create and deploy a web app in 3 hours”. At the end of lectures you will have the skill to deploy your Ruby on Rails Application and at the same time drive thousands of users to your website through Facebook Integration

After leaving college with a Computer Science Degree I have worked in a multitude of startups gaining experience in User Interface and Experience Design Growth Hacking and my true north Ruby on Rails.
Today I have my own web development company where with the help of my team we craft beautiful web applications for other startups and even incubators.

Why should you take this course you ask? First of all a Ruby on Rails Programmer is very hard to find these days and learning the skill through a real life web application is the best way to go.

Second of all in this course the app you’ll be building uses Facebook Connect which is today the easiest and the most popular way of funnelling more users.

Also we’ll be working with Facebook’s Graph API making the sky the limit in regards to your
creativity.

And last but not least you’ll be able to deploy this app in little more than 3 hours. This is a huge confidence boost and specially important when you want to test the market fast.

As a bonus I’ll be teaching you the latest trends when it comes to design.

We’ll use Bootstrap as a foundation but also applying flat design to make your app look awesome right
from the start.

A bit hand wavey in parts especially attempting to debug OAuth issues.

The course is good. The author needs to spend more time explaining what he does. For stretches at a time he codes and expects the student to blindly copy and paste. The course would be much better with explanations.

it describes a number of uses for ruby on rails, it's good for a first contact tutorial, but not a course for learning Ruby on rails.

This course was fairly difficult to follow. The Facebook Graph API has been updated significantly, the instructor doesn't follow the install and setup instructions given for the gems he uses, the instructor hasn't replied to any of the comments from people having issues, and the course takes much longer to create and deploy in 3 hours.

I wouldn't recommend this course, as there are others that are much more informative with instructors who actively participate in the discussions.

This course is actually cool, but I'm now on 40% and not able to do anything by myself because there is no explanation of what he do and why. Just typing... nothing more. So, very said, paid a lot of money and learned less than in a simple tut.

Tiago is a good tutor on this rails course, he does however go a little too quick at times for some people, fortunately i'm a quick typer :) if you want to advance on to something else i would follow Tiagos suggestion of looking at one month.com, i have also done this course, and the more practice you get the better!
If Tiago does another rails course i will definitely jump on it!

The course is a great way of showing the many parts associated with a working app. From that perspective this course is great. What it fails to do however is actually teach the student how it all comes together. I was able to create a working app like in the lessons, but that is because I followed the steps provided. I find it difficult to transition the information showed in this course into my own app idea because I wasn't really taught the meaning of the code that I was writing to achieve the working app. All he states as an example is "type this here to check user authentication" and some code follows on the screen but he doesn't break down the process further for comprehension.
