Being a novice I found it was short and to the point, and allowed me time to write points on hard copy.

It is pretty good. I use a Mac, not a PC, and I have BlueHost, so I didn't need the XAMPP lessons. I like knowing it exists. I am now over halfway through and it is very helpful to someone (me) who is in her 40s and who is not familiar with this. It explains everything I want it to and for the price, totally worth it. Please, remember this is over a decade old so you will have to do the homework on setting up the details of your website on your own but, if you have come this far you are cool with that.

This was an interesting and enjoyable course, but it should be removed from listings until some critical aspects are resolved :

1. *Section 2: Getting Started* - the course needs to be revised - it relates to WordPress version 3.5.1 and the current update is 5.4.1 (as at May 2020). There is *no longer* a need to go through the security process, which took me quite some time to find out through searching online. Also, I made the mistake of running XAMPP and WordPress from an external harddrive, which meant that I had to uninstall and re-install both.

2. *Section 4: Plugins in Wordpress* - I could not find the video widget referred to in this section.

3. *Section 5: Wordpress Themes* - the most frustrating aspect of the course is that the Program Files cannot be opened, which seems to have been reported by another participant previously. I tried to open them through various apps without success. As a result, I had to type all of the code required to build a customized theme, which was made even more difficult copying from the course screen, which was miniscule. If I hadn't had a small knowledge of coding, I might well have given up. However, I persevered over two days and was pleased that I completed the course.

4. *Q&A* - there are 14 of 160 comments unanswered - that's not acceptable.

If these things are addressed, then I would give the course 5*.

I find the videos to be very informative and easy to understand. However, I believe the course is too advanced for my purposes.

Pretty good for the basic stuff. Would personally like a bit of a deeper analysis for the developing part but I guess it would scare off a lot of people. Pretty solid course to get a grasp around WordPress.

A bit outdated as it is a 2012 course without being updated.
Improvised sometimes.
In general, the instructor is good, he knows the information very well.
The course is great, worthy of value, and deserves the time spent.

Not only outdated, but I feel like I would've gotten much better use of my four hours by watching free tutorials on Youtube.
