About This Course

This is an introduction video guide of how to use Cisco Packet Tracer Network Simulator.

Packet Tracer is a powerful network simulator that can be utilized in training for Network certifications by allowing students to create networks with an almost unlimited number of devices and to experience troubleshooting without having to buy real Cisco routers or switches. The tool is created by Cisco Systems. The purpose of Packet Tracer is to offer students a tool to learn the principles of networking as well as develop Cisco technology specific skills. However, it is not be used as a replacement for Routers or Switches.

It can be downloaded for free if you have a Netacad account. As Cisco says, the best way to learn about networking is to do it. Hands-on equipment gets students started, but is limited to the number of devices in the lab. Furthermore, Educators use Packet Tracer to demonstrate complex technical concepts and networking systems. Students use Packet Tracer to complete assignments, working on their own or in teams.

As a network engineer, I used to simulate complex scenarios first on packet tracer and then deploy them on the real equipments. Please notice though, this course will not teach you networking, but rather let teach you how to simulate and apply your networking related knowledge.

  • Understand the purpose of Cisco Packet Tracer

  • Navigate, choose netowork and end devices and customize them

  • Interconect devices and configure them using simple interface

Kişisel gelişimim için bence faydalı bir kurs. Switch ve router sanallaştırması için güzel ve basit bir uygulama anlatımda gayet sade ve anlaşılır. CLI kısmı biraz daha geliştirilebilir.

I am self studying for the new CCNA 200-301 and none to the books help you with using packet tracer. I did the packet tracer course on netcad from cisco and it was not really help mostly wireless stuff. Nothing much instructions for someone who never use the CLI. This course helps me a littler more than where I spend so many hrs on cisco web site wish could get some more configures on the CLI and commands. Over all it help a little more than what I had know. After using using this course try to configure some practice labs and had serious trouble. Wished it has some more practice example.

Before I make several constructive criticisms I need to make clear that I have much respect for any person who has mastered a different language beyond a beginning level relative to his or her native language. I especially have great respect for any person who has intermediate language skills sufficient such that that person is able to teach technical knowledge and skills in his or her non-native language. This is particularly true since I have not mastered another language in spite of best efforts; thus it is difficult for me to set forth criticism regarding the instructor and course delivery even if said criticism is constructive criticism. The constructive criticisms are the following. Because of certain speech patterns (etc.) relative to English , it is difficult to understand the course instructor at times. Fortunately it is possible to utilize closed caption (CC) to understand what the instructor is saying. It is suggested that the instructor take additional English classes to remediate said issue. Additionally, sometimes the instructor rushes through concepts that should be explained in slower detail while also lingering on concepts that are readily apparent to learners. It is suggested that course instructors take some rudimentary teaching classes in order to facilitate better presentation of course content. It is not enough to have technical knowledge, because one may not have the insight to teach course content such that learners are capable of grasping the material. Overall, I believe the instructor is concerned about teaching his students, and his heart is in the right place. Moreover, the instructor appears to be quite knowledgeable and capable of teaching the course content. Finally, I am grateful to the instructor for his willingness to teach this course, and I am thankful to Udemy for offering this course.

The segments seem to just run into one-another without a distinctive break. The instructor appears knowledgeable but is too mundane in his delivery, coupled with the accent that is distracting to me. No offense intended.
